Do I need a medical background?

No. We provide non-medical companionship and support. If a task requires medical care, we refer it to a specialist.

What if I only have 2 hours a week?

That's perfect! Many of our families only need a 1-hour check-in or errand run.

How do I choose which tasks to take on?

You have complete autonomy. When a family in your area requests help, we’ll share the details (location, type of task, and time) via our Ally network. If it fits your schedule and you feel comfortable with the request, you can claim it. If you’re busy or it’s not the right fit, you simply pass. You are never "on call" or forced to take a visit.

Am I an employee of SahayaLocal or an Independent Contractor?

Allies are Independent Contractors (1099). This gives you the ultimate flexibility to work as a "side-hustle" or around your main job/family life. We provide the platform, the vetting, and the connection to local families, while you manage your own schedule and tax reporting. We’ll provide you with all the resources you need to keep track of your visits and payments easily.
